Carlos Duart and Tina Vidal-Duart are FIU alumni and experienced business leaders, providing executive oversight across CDR Companies, Inc. and its subsidiaries, with operations spanning engineering, healthcare, emergency response, and infrastructure-related services across multiple states. She has also developed personalized healthcare offerings through Valere, a women’s health business focused on hormone optimization and metabolic care.
Carlos Duart ’94, MA ’99 is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CDR Companies, Inc. His experience includes public-private partnerships, alternative project delivery, financial modeling, and the procurement and supervision of international transportation projects funded by the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank. Duart holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Taxation from FIU and is a member of FIU’s Business School Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame. He has received FIU’s Outstanding Alumnus Medallion and Torch Award and previously served on the FIU Foundation Board of Directors.
Tina Vidal-Duart ’02, MBA ’04 is Chief Executive Officer of CDR Health Care and Co-Owner and Executive Vice President of CDR Companies, Inc., a diversified enterprise supporting healthcare, infrastructure, and emergency response services in partnership with federal, state, and local agencies across multiple states. She is a healthcare executive with more than 25 years of experience across healthcare operations, emergency response, corporate restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions.
During the COVID-19 response, she played a leadership role in Florida’s emergency healthcare operations, including serving as the contracted Chief Executive Officer of the State of Florida COVID-19 Infectious Disease Field Hospital System. Under her leadership, CDR Health Care supported large-scale public health programs including more than 3 million vaccinations, over 4 million diagnostic tests, approximately 150,000 monoclonal antibody treatments, and more than 250,000 refugee health assessments.
She holds a Master’s degree in International Business and a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Marketing from FIU.
In 2023, their support established the Vidal-Duart Wine Studies Program at FIU’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, offering state-of-the-art facilities and experiential wine education to prepare students for global hospitality careers.
